Rochester took a 47-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Edwardsville. Rochester has struggled against Edwardsville recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Rochester lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ellie Gegen. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Delaney Farris, who scored five points along with two steals.
Rochester's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-18. As for Edwardsville, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-12.
Rochester will take on Glenwood at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Edwardsville, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Belleville West at 6:00 p.m. Belleville West will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 425th, while Edwardsville is ranked 99th).
