The Edison Chargers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 45-37 loss to Clear Fork. Edison lost against Clear Fork in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 54-37 score last time.
Edison lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kayden Bourget, who scored seven points along with three steals. Bourget has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Grayson Smith, who scored eight points.
Edison's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-9. As for Clear Fork, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Edison will take on Margaretta at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Margaretta's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight contests. As for Clear Fork, they will be playing in front of their home fans against River Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. River Valley presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Clear Fork in Ohio (River Valley is ranked 117th, while Clear Fork is ranked 382nd).
