The Franklin Central Flashes will square off against the Hamilton Southeastern Royals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Franklin Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.
Franklin Central came out on top against Fishers on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run fourth inning. The Flashes walked away with a 16-11 win over the Tigers. The Flashes haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Franklin Central got a massive performance out of Audrina Yorn, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Alex Ireland was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and one double.
Franklin Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Hamilton Southeastern had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They came out on top against the Chargers by a score of 6-2.
Grace Swedarsky spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kaitlyn Burdick, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 11 games.
Hamilton Southeastern's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-6. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin Central, their win bumped their record up to 16-9.
Both Franklin Central and Hamilton Southeastern just can't seem to miss. The Flashes have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.6 hits per game. However, it's not like Hamilton Southeastern struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.9 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
