Poly is on a five-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Valley View is on a nine-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Bears will host the Eagles at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Poly 3.2, Valley View 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Wednesday, Poly earned a 7-2 win over Orange Vista. With that victory, the Bears brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.
Marley Audoma made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 20 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Poly got a big performance out of Brookelyn Duerfeldt, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave Duerfeldt a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Honesty Romero, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Poly kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Valley View unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of JW North. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Huskies 6-2 in the first period.
Poly's win bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Valley View, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-4.
Poly was able to grind out a solid victory over Valley View in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 5-0. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
