Ocosta took care of business in their home opener. They took their game against LaConner on Saturday 14-7.
Ocosta got off to a sluggish start, posting 0 total points in the first half. That left them at a 0-7 disadvantage. In the second half, however, Ocosta's defense made a stand and allowed a meager 0 points.
Junior Cole Hatton, who passed for 152 yards and 2 touchdowns, was a major factor in the success. Senior Jayden Matthews also helped out with an impressive 92 receiving yards in the win. This was the first game for both teams, giving Ocosta a 1-0 record and starting LaConner off at 0-1.
Ocosta will look to defend their home turf next week against Chief Leschi at 7:00 PM. As for LaConner, they will face off against Lummi.
