The Sherwood Marksmen fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They managed a 28-24 win over Versailles on Friday.
Garhett Cardwell continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 285 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 78 yards and a touchdown while completing 85.7% of his passes.
Sherwood's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Versailles, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.
Sherwood will head out on the road to face off against St. Michael the Archangel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in St. Michael the Archangel's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Sherwood has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. Versailles will take on Cole Camp at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
