Whitko will take on South Bend Riley in a tournament on Saturday. The timing is sure in Whitko's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while South Bend Riley has been banged up by 12 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
On Thursday, Whitko didn't have quite enough to beat Rochester and fell 3-2.
In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Whitko sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-22, 15-25, 25-11, 24-26, 15-13.

Despite their loss, Whitko saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Meredith Hindbaugh, who had 13 kills, 11 digs, three aces, and one block, was perhaps the best of all. Hindbaugh has been hot, having posted two or more aces the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Audrey Watmough, who had 13 digs, five kills, three aces, and one block.
Meanwhile, South Bend Riley came up short against South Bend Adams on Thursday, falling 3-0.
The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 25-15.
South Bend Riley's defeat dropped their record down to 8-27. As for Whitko, they now have a losing record of 13-14.
Whitko beat South Bend Riley 2-0 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Does Whitko have another victory up their sleeve, or will South Bend Riley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
