The Poquoson Islanders had to endure an 11-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They snuck past Tabb with a 62-56 win on Friday. Poquoson's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Poquoson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dayne Galacgac led the charge by scoring 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Galacgac has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Khaleo Smith, who scored 14 points.
Poquoson's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-7. As for Tabb, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
Poquoson will head out on the road to take on Nandua at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tabb, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Jamestown at 7:00 p.m. Jamestown knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Tabb likes a good challenge.
