Ursuline Academy has gone a perfect 3-0 against Bellingham recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bears will host the Blackhawks at 3:45 p.m. Ursuline Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
On Wednesday, Ursuline Academy beat O'Bryant 8-4. The win continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won four in a row.
Emersyn Smart was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Those 15 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Celia Mitchell, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Abigail Kirk was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI.
Meanwhile, Bellingham hadn't done well against Holliston recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Blackhawks narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Panthers 5-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blackhawks.
Trista Corshia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Ashley Kamin was excellent, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Cassidy Leger, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
The win got Ursuline Academy back to even at 7-7. As for Bellingham, their victory bumped their record up to 7-8.
Ursuline Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Bellingham in their previous matchup back in April, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blackhawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
