The Ridge Community Bolts posted their closest win yet this season on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Haines City 53-51. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Ridge Community.
Eddy Hyppolite jr. was his usual excellent self, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and five steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Tarique Kennedy, who scored ten points along with three blocks.
Haines City's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jorge Ramirez, who scored 14 points along with two steals. Trevon Davis was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Ridge Community's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Haines City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ridge Community will take on Kathleen at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Haines City, they will be playing in front of their home fans against McKeel Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. McKeel Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Haines City in Florida (McKeel Academy is ranked 229th, while Haines City is ranked 551st).
