From Maine to Hawaii and Alaska to Florida, the nation is chock full of amazing talents. All-state honorees, players of the year and record-setters dot the list as MaxPreps chooses the top athlete in every state in the country, along with the District of Columbia.
Alabama
Kristian Story, Lanett
A MaxPreps All-American, Story became the Alabama career leader in offense with 13,128 yards (9,070 passing, 3,618 rushing and 530 receiving).
Alaska
Jace Henry, Lathrop (Fairbanks)
A standout in football with 1,573 yards rushing and 23 touchdowns and 1,296 yards passing and 14 touchdowns, Henry was the Player of the Year by the state coaches association.
Arizona
Bijan Robinson, Salpointe Catholic (Tucson)
Robinson earned MaxPreps All-American honors after finishing his career as the second all-time leading rusher in the state with 7,036 yards and the state leader with 114 total touchdowns. He rushed for 2,235 yards and 38 touchdowns as a senior.
Arkansas
Jaylin Williams, Northside (Fort Smith)
One of the top big men in the Class of 2021, the 6-foot-10 Williams was the Class 6A state Player of the Year in Arkansas after averaging 18.7 points and 12.2 points for the state semifinalists.
California
Bryce Young, Mater Dei (Santa Ana)
The national Co-Player of the Year by MaxPreps, Young finished his career as one of the state's all-time leading passers with 13,250 yards passing and 152 touchdowns. He threw for 4,528 yards and 58 touchdowns as a senior while leading Mater Dei to a 13-1 record.
Colorado
Cole Sprout, Valor Christian (Highlands Ranch)
Sprout is a five-time Gatorade State Player of the Year winner, claiming three awards in cross country and two in track and field. He's a three-time Class 5A state champion in cross country.
Connecticut
Alec Hughes, Glastonbury
The state Player of the Year in boys soccer, Hughes also ran track as a junior. He scored 27 goals in leading Glastonbury to a 17-4-1 record.
Delaware
CJ Henry, Hodgson Vo-Tech (Newark)
Only a junior, Henry led his team to a Division 1 state championship and a 12-0 record in football. He threw for 2,351 yards and 31 touchdowns on the season.
Washington, D.C.
Rakim Jarrett, St. John's
Regarded as one of the top receivers in the Class of 2020, Jarrett caught 60 passes for 950 yards and was a three-time all-conference selection.
Florida
Demarkcus Bowman, Lakeland
A Clemson signee, Bowman rushed for 5,081 yards in his career and scored 71 touchdowns. He ran for other 1,000 yards three straight seasons, including 2,422 yards as a junior and 1,570 yards as a senior.
Georgia
Arik Gilbert, Marietta
Regarded as the nation's No. 1 tight end, Gilbert was Gatorade's National Player of the Year. He caught 81 passes for 1,436 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Hawaii
Jayden deLaura, St. Louis (Honolulu)
Another in a long line of standout Crusaders quarterbacks, DeLaura was first team all-state while throwing for 3,442 yards and 29 touchdowns.

Idaho
Austin Bolt, Borah (Boise)
An all-around athlete, Bolt was first team all-state in football with 1,391 yards rushing and 1,380 yards passing. He was also the state basketball Player of the Year while scoring 19.4 points and 12.2 rebounds. He also won two state championships in track as a junior.
Illinois
Adam Miller, Morgan Park (Chicago)
A two-time state Player of the Year by Gatorade, Miller averaged 23.9 points as a senior and has over 2,000 points in his career.
Indiana
Charlie Spegal, New Palestine
Spegal is one of 10 running backs in high school history with over 10,000 career rushing yards as he ran for 10,867 with 175 total touchdowns. He is also a three-time all-state selection.
Iowa
Hunter Dekkers, West Sioux (Hawarden)
After throwing for 3,641 yards as a junior, Dekkers threw for 3,640 yards as a senior in leading West Sioux to a state championship. He finished his career with 10,628 yards passing. He also averaged 21.3 points per game on the basketball team.
Kansas
Ky Thomas, Topeka
Became the third running back to rush for over 3,000 yards in a season, finishing with 3,027. He had 7,054 career rushing yards with 93 touchdowns.
Kentucky
Michael Mayer, Covington Catholic (Park Hills)
An outstanding football player, Mayer was one of the top tight end and linebacker prospects in the nation this year. He was also a starter on the basketball team as a junior, but did not play as a senior.
Louisiana
Christian Westcott, Lakeshore (Mandeville)
A standout on the gridiron and on the baseball diamond, Westcott led the football team to a 13-1, threw for over 2,400 yards and rushed for over 1,100 yards.
Maine
Zachary Maturo, Bonny Eagle (Standish)
Maturo scored 1,308 points in basketball and was the state's top football player, rushing for 1,264 yards and 23 touchdowns.
Maryland
Blake Corum, St. Frances Academy (Baltimore)
A MaxPreps All-American, Corum rushed for nearly 1,500 yards on the season while helping St. Frances Academy to an 11-1 record.
Massachusetts
Kevin Skagerlind, Wachusett Regional (Holden)
A three-sport standout, Skagerlind was among the state's best athletes in soccer, ice hockey and baseball.
Michigan
Emoni Bates, Lincoln (Ypsilanti)
The Gatorade National Player of the Year as a sophomore, Bates was also a MaxPreps All-American while averaging 33.1 points per game.
Minnesota
Jalen Suggs, Minnehaha Academy (Minneapolis)
The MaxPreps National Athlete of the Year, Suggs was the Gatorade state Player of the Year in both football and basketball.
Mississippi
Ty Keyes, Taylorsville
A three-time all-state player, Keyes already has 12,109 yards passing with his senior season left to play. Keyes is also one of the school's top basketball players, averaging over 15 points per game.
Missouri
Isaiah Davis, Joplin
Chosen by MaxPreps as the state MVP in football, Davis rushed for 2,283 yards and led Joplin to the Class 6A state championship game.
Montana
Rollie Worster, Hellgate (Missoula)
The MaxPreps state Player of the Year in basketball, Worster earned all-state honors three times and averaged 20.7 points per game while leading Hellgate to a 21-0 record.
Nebraska
Jevyon Ducker, Bellevue West (Bellevue)
A two-sport standout, Ducker competed in football and track and field. He was the football state Player of the Year by Gatorade after rushing for 2,100 yards and 39 touchdowns and leading his team to a Class A state title. He had 110 career touchdowns to set a state record.
Nevada
Jaden Hardy, Coronado (Henderson)
Only a junior, Hardy has already made all-state three times and he was named the MaxPreps state Player of the Year. He averaged 30.4 points per game this year.
New Hampshire
Sander Wimmer, Hollis-Brookline (Hollis)
Besides earning Division II state Player of the Year honors as a quarterback, Wimmer was also a starter on the boys volleyball and basketball teams.
New Jersey
Fadil Diggs, Woodrow Wilson (Camden)
A dominant player on offense and defense, Diggs caught 64 passes for 1,006 yards and also had 93 tackles on defense.
New Mexico
Tre Watson III, Cleveland (Rio Rancho)
Watson, a junior, earned all-state honors in football and basketball. He is one of the top tight end prospects in the state and averaged over 15 points per game in basketball.

Brennan O'Neill, St. Anthony's (Melville)
He didn't get to play much his senior year, but O'Neill's talent can't go unnoticed. He's considered the No. 1 lacrosse prospect in the nation and he was the national Player of the Year by Inside Lacrosse as a junior.
North Carolina
Will Shipley, Weddington (Matthews)
A standout in track and field and lacrosse, Shipley was a MaxPreps All-American in football after rushing for 1,639 yards and 25 touchdowns during his junior season.
North Dakota
Cade Feeney, Century (Bismarck)
Feeney was all-state in football, was one of the team's leading scorers in basketball and has committed to play baseball at North Dakota State.
Ohio
Evan Prater, Wyoming (Cincinnati)
A two-sport star at Wyoming, Prater signed to play quarterback at Cincinnati after throwing for 1,807 yards and rushing for 1,508 yards. He also helped lead the basketball team to a 23-1 record.
Oklahoma
Brennan Presley, Bixby
Presley excelled on offense and defense at Bixby. He had 98 catches for 1,515 yards and 24 touchdowns. He also had seven interceptions on defense while helping Bixby to a state championship and an undefeated season.
Oregon
Casey Filkins, Lake Oswego
A member of the basketball and track and field teams, Filkins was the top football prospect in Oregon this year. He had 4,596 career rushing yards with 100 total touchdowns.
Pennsylvania
Julian Fleming, Southern Columbia Area (Catawissa)
A MaxPreps All-American, Fleming helped his team to 48 straight wins. He had 5,481 career receiving yards with 78 touchdowns.
Rhode Island
Erickson Bans, Shea (Pawtucket)
The MaxPreps basketball Player of the Year finished his career as the state's all-time leading scorer with 2,570 points. He averaged 30.1 points as a senior.
South Carolina
Ty Olenchuk, Dutch Fork (Irmo)
Olenchuk threw for 3,513 yards while leading Dutch Fork to a 14-0-1 record. He was also all-state in baseball as a junior.
South Dakota
Nash Hutmacher, Chamberlain
An all-state football signed with Nebraska and a defending state champion in the discus and shot put, Hutmacher excelled on the mat where he was undefeated over four seasons and was the No. 1 heavyweight in the nation by Intermat.
Tennessee
Robert Hassell, Independence (Thompson's Station)
Although he didn't get to play his senior year, Hassell will likely be the most heralded athlete in Tennessee this year as he is expected to be a first-round selection in the Major League Baseball draft in June.
Texas
Marvin Mims, Lone Star (Frisco)
Mims broke a nearly 20-year old Texas and national record 2,629 yards in a season. He also broke the state career yardage record with 5,485 yards.
Utah
Dallin Hall, Fremont (Plain City)
Hall led Fremont to a state championship in basketball while averaging 22.6 points. He earned Region 1 MVP honors three straight years.
Vermont
Joey McCoy, Burr & Burton (Manchester)
The state Player of the Year in football while accounting for 56 touchdowns, McCoy was also a standout in ice hockey and baseball.
Virginia
Jay Woolfolk, Benedictine (Richmond)
The Gatorade state Player of the Year in baseball, Woolfolk also quarterbacked the football team to a state championship.
Washington
Emeka Egbuka, Steilacoom
The MaxPreps Junior Football Player of the Year, Egbuka had 83 catches for 1,607 yards and 25 touchdowns.
West Virginia
Zach Frazier, Fairmont Senior
An all-state player at tackle in football, Frazier was also a four-time state champion in wrestling.
Wisconsin
Patrick Baldwin Jr., Hamilton (Sussex)
One of the top recruits in the Class of 2021, Baldwin was an all-state selection after averaging 24.2 points and 11 rebounds per game.
Wyoming
Garrett Coon, Sheridan
Coon was a three-time all-state player at Sheridan and led the team to a pair of state championships. As a senior, he rushed for 1,589 yards and 29 touchdowns.
