Baseball Recap: East Columbus Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

East Columbus entered their tilt with Heide Trask on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Titans 11-4. Considering the Gators have won six contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Gauge Simmons and Braylon Waddell did most of the damage at the plate: Simmons went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Waddell scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5. Those four RBI gave Simmons a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamden Coker, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

East Columbus was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .378. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

East Columbus' record now sits at 10-6. As for Heide Trask, they dropped their record down to 4-14 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, East Columbus will take on Purnell Swett in a tournament on Saturday. The Gators' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Heide Trask, they will be taking part in a tournament against Fairmont at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
