Even though Valentine have not done well against the Todd County Falcons recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Valentine sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 23-20 victory over Todd County. The win made it back-to-back wins for Valentine.
Valentine was led to victory by Paige Sprenger and Kinsey Buechle. Sprenger scored 7 points along with 5 steals, while Buechle dropped a double-double on 16 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Buechle has scored at least 25% of Valentine's points.
Valentine's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Todd County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Valentine will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Cozad at 3:30 p.m. As for Todd County, they will head out on the road to face off against Chamberlain at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
