The Cascade Champions will challenge the Cannon County Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Cascade will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Cascade proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 17) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past Moore County 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Champions have posted since April 26, 2024.
Jordan Childress made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Childress was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had over his last seven games.

In other pitching news, Caleb Crouch looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Xykaiah Dixon, who scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Demartelaere, who went 3-for-4 with one double.
Cascade was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Moore County only posted a batting average of .111.
Meanwhile, Cannon County suffered their biggest loss since March 19th on Friday. They lost 27-7 to Watertown.
Cannon County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Levi Paxton, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. Another was Jon Bryson, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.
Cannon County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Cascade, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.
Cascade couldn't quite finish off Cannon County in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 and fell 11-9. Can the Champions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
