Christian Learning Center's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Micah Bean led the charge by putting up eight points in addition to 13 rebounds and five assists. Cali Hensley was another key player, posting seven points and seven boards.
Meanwhile, Plaza Heights Christian Academy played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Christian Fellowship, falling 58-31. The loss continues a trend for Plaza Heights Christian Academy in their matchups with Christian Fellowship: they've now lost five in a row.
Christian Learning Center will have to keep a close watch on Sydney Berry and Reece Cornine, a pair of players who had a big impact on Plaza Heights Christian Academy's prior game. Berry posted 14 points and three steals, while Cornine put up eight points and three steals. Cornine is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Emma Tucker, who had four points and seven rebounds.
Plaza Heights Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Christian Learning Center, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Christian Learning Center has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 29.5 boards per game. However, it's not like Plaza Heights Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.2 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
