De Anza is 0-5 against Albany since March of 2019 but things could change on Wednesday. The Dons are taking a road trip to face off against the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. De Anza will be strutting in after a victory while Albany will be coming in after a defeat.
De Anza took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Everything went their way against Kennedy as they made off with a 16-1 win. With that victory, the Dons brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Ma'Yhana Moore and Mya Arroyo made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Moore tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Arroyo struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. At bat, Moore went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Arroyo went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was Moore's first of the season.
In other batting news, De Anza got a massive performance out of Riana Everetts, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Everetts has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrianna Garcia, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
De Anza kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.7 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 9.8.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Albany's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of San Rafael on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Cougars' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Albany's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for De Anza, their record is now 3-9.
De Anza suffered a grim 14-3 defeat to Albany in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Dons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
