Basketball Recap: Northridge Drops Highest Score of Season Against Summit Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northridge). They blew past the Summit Academy Bears 86-62 on Friday. With the Knights ahead 42-21 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

It was another big night for Cael Lake, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine assists. The game was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Sunkuli, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds.

Lake wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Northridge was working as a unit and finished the game with 26 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Summit Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Dylan Kartchner, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Beckham Meredith, who earned seven points.

Northridge moved to 2-7 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak. As for Summit Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Northridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 74-69 victory against Clearfield on the 31st. As for Summit Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 70-50 defeat against Grantsville on the 28th.
