Greater Thumb - West recap October 22, 2013
Reese extended the longest winning streak in Greater Thumb - West this week by beating Unionville-Sebewaing, 47-0. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
The Patriots fell to Reese 47-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Vassar's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Michael Pratt threw for 232 and 1 touchdown and Lamont Morrison had 112 yards receiving. On the ground Nick Baker contributed 51 yards. Tom Palmer helped Vassar's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 66 yards.
Jared Brown made the biggest impact on defense this week as Bad Axe fell to Laker. He grabbed 1 sack.
Morrison was the best wideout in the league this week as the Vulcans defeated Cass City. Morrison tallied 4 receptions for 112 yards. Palmer helped Vassar's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 66 yards.
Vassar's Pratt and David Wargo have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-11 quarterback Pratt has thrown for 1,283 yards this season, while Wargo has 22 catches for 477 yards. Seth Gangler from Unionville-Sebewaing leads the league in rushing with 587 yards.
