In what's become a running theme this season, the Greenwood Mennonite Flames gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 59-12 win over Chestertown Christian Academy. The victory was familiar territory for Greenwood Mennonite who now have four in a row.
It was another big night for Laci Mast, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Greenwood Mennonite's points. Another player making a difference was Faith Troyer, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Madison Slager, who scored five points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Greenwood Mennonite's win bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Chestertown Christian Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenwood Mennonite will challenge the at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Calvary Christian Academy: 29.1, the Flames: 19.6) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Chestertown Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against the Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Fairwinds Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
