The Shorecrest Scots will take on the Nathan Hale Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Shorecrest came out on top against Lynnwood on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Scots had just enough and edged out the Royals 6-4.

04/11/25 vs Edmonds-Woodway | 8 |
03/31/25 vs Snohomish | 6 |
03/29/25 @ King's | 4 |
03/17/25 vs Cascade | 3 |
Shorecrest got a great performance from Oliver Verdoes as he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Those nine strikeouts gave Verdoes a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Shorecrest let Quinn Burnham and Brooks Murray run wild. Burnham went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Murray went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Burnham is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Koen Ekstrom, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Nathan Hale, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Everything went their way against Cleveland on Monday as they made off with a 10-1 victory. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by nine runs or more this season.
Jack Dire tossed a big game, striking out 14 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
At the plate, Finn Leach was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Julian Gonzalez was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Nathan Hale kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in eight consecutive matches.
The win got Nathan Hale back to even at 7-7-1. As for Shorecrest, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Shorecrest has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Nathan Hale struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Shorecrest couldn't quite finish off Nathan Hale when the teams last played back in March of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can the Scots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
