If Calvary Christian Academy were feeling good off their 60-18 takedown of the Concord Christian Academy Minutemen last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Calvary Christian Academy received a tough blow on Monday as they fell 53-39 to the Flames. Calvary Christian Academy found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 15 to 8 on offense.
Despite the loss, Calvary Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Diaya Armantrading, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kate Malinky (HS), who scored 11 points along with five assists.
Greenwood Mennonite had a senior duo take command as Faith Troyer dropped a double-double on 21 points and 18 rebounds and Laci Mast almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Mast has scored at least a third of Greenwood Mennonite's points.
Calvary Christian Academy now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Greenwood Mennonite, they pushed their record up to 13-2 with that win, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Fairwinds Christian the next time they take the court. Calvary Christian Academy will head out to face the Knights at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, while the Flames will head out to face them at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
