The Swink Lions struggled with three-point shooting accuracy on Saturday (the Lamar Thunder were 25% better) and sadly the final score reflected it. Swink was dealt a 66-37 defeat at the hands of Lamar. Swink has not had much luck with Lamar recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the loss, Swink still got an impressive performance from Hunter Bauserman, who scored 14 points along with three steals. Bauserman scored a full 37.8% of Swink's points, the eighth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Cabrera, who scored 12 points.
Lucas Martinez was his usual excellent self, scoring 16 points for Lamar. Another player making a difference was Jacob Dunning, who scored ten points.
Swink has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Lamar, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Swink will head out on the road to face off against Hoehne at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Hoehne focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 two weeks ago. As for Lamar, they will be playing at home against Banning Lewis Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
