After a string of four wins, the Rockford Christian Royal Lions's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 55-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Scales Mound. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Rockford Christian has scored all season.
It was another big night for Thomas Hereau, who scored 24 points along with nine rebounds and two steals for Scales Mound. Hereau hasn't dropped below 15points for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Wienen, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Rockford Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Scales Mound, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-4.
Rockford Christian will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Eastland at 6:00 p.m. on January 15th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Illinois (Eastland is ranked 204th, while Rockford Christian is ranked 203rd). As for Scales Mound, they will face off against Pecatonica at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Pecatonica has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 214 points over their last three games.
