The Quantico Warriors couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a serious blow against Hedgesville on Friday, falling 82-7. Quantico was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-5.
Despite the loss, Quantico still got an impressive performance from Jane Gwinn, who scored 5 points.
Hedgesville found their leader in underclassman Gracie Brown, who dropped a triple-double on 28 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 steals. Natalie Yates was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Quantico's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Hedgesville, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Quantico will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Wakefield School at 4:00 p.m. Wakefield School has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Hedgesville, they will head out on the road to face off against St. James at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
