The Boyertown Bears will head out on the road to square off against the Perkiomen Valley Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Boyertown sitting on four straight wins and Perkiomen Valley on six.
On Thursday, Boyertown made easy work of Upper Perkiomen and carried off a 9-2 victory. Considering the Bears have won nine games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Kyra Neiswender spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Boyertown let Lindsay Mathias and Rielynn Carey run wild. Mathias went 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI, while Carey went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Carey has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Wilson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Boyertown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .367 or higher in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Perkiomen Valley hadn't done well against Spring-Ford recently (they were 1-7-1 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Vikings never let the Rams get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. Those one runs were actually the fewest the Vikings have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Perkiomen Valley pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Boyertown, their record is now 9-6.
Boyertown couldn't quite finish off Perkiomen Valley in their previous matchup on April 1st and fell 3-1. Can the Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
