The Desert Ridge Jaguars will face off against the Valley Christian Trojans at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Desert Ridge is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.5 runs per game this season.

Desert Ridge is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Basha just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against the Bears, falling 10-3. The matchup marked the Jaguars' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Desert Ridge saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooklyn Parks, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Mackenzie Perea also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Even though they lost, Desert Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .364 or higher in 12 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Valley Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 9-6 win over Eastmark on Thursday.

Corinne Rodgers was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Makay Fraley was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Valley Christian is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-1-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. Desert Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 7-3.

Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Desert Ridge hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .462. However, it's not like Valley Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .413. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
