Chatfield took down Bear Creek 38-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Kyle Winkler threw for 205 yards and one touchdown in the win.
Arapahoe made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 567 from 1,431. The advance stemmed from a 27-14 victory over Lakewood last week.
The Warriors' dynamic duo of Taven Sparks and Ethan Brunhofer proved tough for the Tigers to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Sparks threw for 178 yards and two touchdowns and Brunhofer had 103 yards receiving. Hunter Noon helped Arapahoe's passing attack out by catching one ball for 30 yards.
Conor Brady was the most productive running back in 5A Super 6 this week. He ran for 170 yards on 28 carries as Mullen bested Lakewood. Teammate Gasper Dominici added to the ground attack by rushing for 26 yards.
Michael Burns provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Columbine lost to the Mustangs. He completed five passes for 136 yards and also ran for 60 yards. Burns' favorite target this week was Garrett Hyde, who caught three passes for 65 yards.
6-foot-4 quarterback Sparks of Mike Campbell's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 976. He has also thrown nine touchdowns. On the ground, the Rebels' Bernard McDondle has rushed for 1092 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Kevin Butts. The Bear Creek star has 22 catches for 410 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between the Chargers and Mullen. Chatfield comes into the matchup ranked 17th in the state, while Tom Thenell's team ranks fourth.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Bret Mcgatlin's team takes on the Mustangs. The Chargers have allowed 122 points this season, while Mullen has given up 118. Chatfield allowed 6 points last week as it defeated the Bears.
The Chargers led 5A Super 6 in scoring this week after putting up 38 points on Bear Creek. Winkler in the win.
