Softball Recap: Elko Has No Trouble Against Mccall-Donnelly

Elko was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against McCall-Donnelly on Friday. Elko blew past McCall-Donnelly 23-8. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by 15 runs or more this season.

Addison Seipp was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emily Cruz, who went 2-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.

Elko was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are 7-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Elko has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 11.57 hits in those games compared to only 5.4 in the others. McCall-Donnelly is on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Elko wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-9 victory against Boise on the 21st. As for McCall-Donnelly, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 25-1 loss against Gooding on the 21st.
