Basketball Recap: Easley Homeschool Extends Winning Streak to Four

Easley HomeSchool hadn't done well against First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Easley HomeSchool Guardians came out on top in a nail-biter against the First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest Crusaders, sneaking past 54-51. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Guardians have posted since March 5th.

Tucker Shealy and Ethan Flynn certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Shealy posted 17 points in addition to five assists and five steals, while Flynn scored 13 points along with five boards and three steals. The game was Shealy's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Harrison Boyce, who put up nine points and seven rebounds.

The win was the fourth in a row for Easley HomeSchool, bringing their record for this year to 7-1. As for First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest, they dropped their record down to 4-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Easley HomeSchool will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Laurens Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025. First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest and Southside Christian will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on December 20th.
