The McCreary Central Raiders will take on the Williamsburg Yellow Jackets at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in McCreary Central's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Williamsburg has been banged up by 13 consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.
Last Thursday, McCreary Central got the win against Jellico by a conclusive 17-2. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Riley Newman made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, McCreary Central got a massive performance out of Hayden Irvin, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Mason Bryant was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
McCreary Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jellico only posted an OBP of .385.
Meanwhile, Williamsburg started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Jackson County. They came up short against the Generals on Friday, falling 12-2.
Isaiah Sizemore made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Williamsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for McCreary Central, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
McCreary Central took their win against Williamsburg in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 16-0. Will McCreary Central repeat their success, or does Williamsburg has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
