The Chittenango Bears scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Cortland 91-38 at home. Chittenango has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 22 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Ryan Moesch, who scored 30 points along with five assists and five steals. Moesch is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 21 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Brendon Barnard, who scored 18 points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Cortland still got an impressive performance from Antonio Terrazas, who scored nine points.
Cortland struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Chittenango pulled down 16 offensive rebounds.
Chittenango's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.8 points per game. As for Cortland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chittenango will take on the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Institute of Tech will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 234th, while the Bears are ranked 96th). As for Cortland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Westhill will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
