The South Rowan Raiders lost against the West Rowan Falcons back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. South Rowan was dealt a 81-21 loss at the hands of West Rowan. While losing is never fun, South Rowan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 440th, while West Rowan is ranked 24th).
South Rowan's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kynlee Dextraze, who scored six points.
South Rowan's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-12. As for West Rowan, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 14-1.
South Rowan won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Central Cabarrus at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully Central Cabarrus focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Friday. As for West Rowan, they will head out on the road to face off against A.L. Brown at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
