Softball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Skyridge's Fourth in Last Five Outings

The matchup between Skyridge and Springville on Friday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Falcons came out on top against the Red Devils by a score of 14-10. This was payback for the Falcons, who suffered a 1-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The team relied heavily on Isabella Plewe, who fired off two home runs, eight RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-5. Those eight RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylie Power, who went 2-for-5 with one home run and three RBI.

Skyridge has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-14 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Springville, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Skyridge will take on Lone Peak at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Springville, they will square off against Maple Mountain at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Eagles have averaged an impressive 11.2 runs per game this season.
