Eatonville has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on The Hoquiam Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hoquiam took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Eatonville, who comes in off a win.
Last Thursday, Eatonville never let their opponents score. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Elma 44-0 at home. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Eatonville just coasted through the last quarter.
Eatonville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Griffin Clevenger, who picked up 51 receiving yards and a touchdown. Dylan Norman and his 86 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Eatonville's win.
Meanwhile, Hoquiam's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 13-6 to Centralia.
Eatonville's win bumped their record up to 4-4. As for Hoquiam, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-7.
Everything came up roses for Eatonville against Hoquiam in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 42-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Eatonville since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
