King's Christian is a perfect 5-0 against Solebury since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Knights will face off against the Spartans at 4:00 p.m. King's Christian will be strutting in after a win while Solebury will be coming in after a loss.
King's Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 24-0 margin over Calvary Academy on Thursday. Considering the Knights have won six contests by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Levi Smith and Matty Pancurak made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Smith pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Pancurak struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. At the plate, Smith went 2-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base, while Pancurak went 2-for-4 with four runs and one stolen base. Pancurak has become a key player for King's Christian: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4 otherwise.

In other batting news, Sam Yoo and Bryce Brown did most of the damage at the plate: Yoo went 4-for-6 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Brown went 5-for-6 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Brown is becoming a predictor of King's Christian's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 3-4 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Winklespecht, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
King's Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .537. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Solebury didn't have quite enough to beat New Foundations on Wednesday and fell 5-3. The Spartans haven't had much luck with New Foundations recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Bryan Bassler was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Bassler was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Bassler wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Bering Read, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
King's Christian moved to 7-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Solebury, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. King's Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Solebury struggles in that department as they've been averaging 10.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
King's Christian took their win against Solebury in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
