The Classical Academy Caimans will square off against the La Jolla Country Day Torreys at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Classical Academy has three straight wins, La Jolla Country Day has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Wednesday, Classical Academy got the win against St. Joseph Academy by a conclusive 26-6. The result was nothing new for the Caimans, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Milena McConnell made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-6 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Classical Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .377. However, it's not like La Jolla Country Day struggles in that department as they've averaged .346. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Classical Academy took their win against La Jolla Country Day when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 15-7 score. Do the Caimans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Torreys turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
