The Franklinton Rams were the 87-57 winner over the Bunn Wildcats when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Franklinton took a 56-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bunn.
Despite the loss, Franklinton still got an impressive performance from Darius Slankard, who scored 18 points. Slankard continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Markelle Massenburg, who scored 15 points.
Bunn can attribute much of their success to Kheon Bradberry, who scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bradberry has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jameir Strickland, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Franklinton has fallen quite a ways from their 25-5 record last season and are now at 5-8. As for Bunn, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Franklinton on the road again on Wednesday and play against Northern Nash at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th. Northern Nash presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Franklinton in North Carolina (Northern Nash is ranked 169th, while Franklinton is ranked 403rd). As for Bunn, they will play host again and welcome Nash Central, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Nash Central is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
