Plateau Valley is 1-7 against West Grand since September of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The third road game was the charm for Plateau Valley, as they earned their first road win of the season. They skirted past Elbert 46-44. The win was just what Plateau Valley needed coming off of a 62-40 defeat in their prior match.
Virgil james Kuper was his usual excellent self, rushing for 225 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also picking up 65 receiving yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Devon Ealey, who picked up 107 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, West Grand put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Vail Christian 44-14 on the road. The result was nothing new for West Grand, who have now won seven games by 30 points or more so far this season.
West Grand found their leader in underclassman Blake Terryberry, who rushed for 91 yards and four touchdowns, and also threw for 161 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Jackson Steinle, who picked up 97 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Plateau Valley's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for West Grand, their victory was their eighth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-0.
Plateau Valley was dealt a bruising 44-8 loss at the hands of West Grand in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Will Plateau Valley have more luck at home instead of on the road?
