The West Catholic Falcons put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to Comstock Park for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-0 victory at home. The result was nothing new for West Catholic, who have now won nine matches by 26 points or more so far this season.
Charlie DeBruyn got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 172 yards and four touchdowns on only ten carries. Mike Murphy was another key contributor, rushing for 46 yards and two touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was West Catholic's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for seven sacks. Leading the way was Ethan Stoner and his two sacks.
West Catholic's win was their 13th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 10-0. As for Comstock Park, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.
West Catholic will play host again and welcome Oakridge, where Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oakridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 115th, while West Catholic is ranked 14th). Comstock Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
