The Stratford Red Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 73-58 to Brookfield. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Shane Weber was his usual excellent self, scoring 35 points along with seven assists and five rebounds for Brookfield. That makes it 16 consecutive games in which Weber has scored at least a third of Brookfield's points. Josh Merchant was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Stratford has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Brookfield, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.
Stratford will head out on the road to take on the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Brookfield, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Connecticut (Immaculate is ranked 77th, while the Bobcats are ranked 59th).
