The Westmoore Jaguars were the 69-61 winner over the Lawton Wolverines when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Westmoore took a 61-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolverines. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Westmoore saw an underclassman step up: Ivan Antwi donkor scored 16 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Loper, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.
Westmoore's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Lawton, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westmoore is on the road again on Friday and plays the Millers at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Yukon will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while the Jaguars are ranked 35th). As for Lawton, they will head out on the road to challenge the Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Putnam City West and the Wolverines are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
