Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 14 more assists than your opponent, a fact the Fallston Cougars proved on Monday. They strolled past Havre de Grace with points to spare, taking the game 48-33. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Fallston.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fallston to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jadin Woods, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Natalie Wirth, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Havre de Grace lost, one person who can't be blamed is Azareya Whiting. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Whiting is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Havre de Grace struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Fallston pushed their record up to 2-0 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Havre de Grace, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fallston will take on Aberdeen at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Havre de Grace, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Rising Sun at 6:45 p.m. on December 18th.
