The Leadore Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 64-44 walloping at the hands of Challis. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Leadore has suffered yet this season.
Leadore's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dane Piippo, who scored 16 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Herbst, who scored eight points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Leadore has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Challis, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Leadore will face off against Grace Lutheran at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Challis will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Grace at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th.
