Greendale has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Pius XI Catholic Popes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Greendale will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings (they are ranked 191st, while Pius XI Catholic is ranked 35th).
Greendale suffered their biggest defeat since December 12, 2023 on Thursday. Their rough 69-49 defeat to Franklin might stick with them for a while. That's two games in a row now that Greendale has lost by exactly 20 points.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Peyton Yoder, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Macey St Lawrence, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Pius XI Catholic pushed their score all the way to 60 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Wisconsin Lutheran on the road by a decisive 77-60 margin.
Greendale now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Pius XI Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.
Greendale took a serious blow against Pius XI Catholic in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 69-32. Can Greendale avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
