Columbus East is 6-0 against Silver Creek since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Columbus East Olympians will look to defend their home court against the Silver Creek Dragons at 7:30 p.m. Columbus East will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 190th, while Silver Creek is ranked 17th).
Last Saturday, Columbus East lost to Madison on the road by a decisive 64-49 margin. Columbus East has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite their loss, Columbus East saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Savanna Sullivan, who scored 13 points, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sullivan has scored all season. Caroline Frost was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Silver Creek had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points), and they went ahead and made it ten on Saturday. They blew past Eastern 69-38 at home. Silver Creek has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Columbus East's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 6-15. As for Silver Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 16-4.
Columbus East strolled past Silver Creek in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 by a score of 69-52. Does Columbus East have another victory up their sleeve, or will Silver Creek turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
