Lincoln is on a three-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Eastside Catholic is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. Lincoln will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Eastside Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Lincoln is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Bishop Blanchet on Thursday. They lost 11-1 to the Bears. The Lynx haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Lincoln saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dakota Blokker, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Eastside Catholic). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Ingraham an 18-0 shutout on Monday. The Crusaders have beaten the Rams the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Rams has come to flipping the script.
Kailee McCauley made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Eastside Catholic got a massive performance out of Queen Tone, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two hits gave Tone a new career-high. Julian Crawford was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Eastside Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups.
Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Eastside Catholic, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Lincoln took their win against Eastside Catholic in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 15-2. Will Lincoln repeat their success, or does Eastside Catholic has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
