Basketball Recap: Greenville H Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Greenville H entered their tilt with Landrum on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 40-35 W against the Landrum Cardinals. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hurricanes also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2021.

Greenville H was led to victory by Macie Hanley and Emery Lindsey. Hanley dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds, while Lindsey posted 15 points. The dominant performance also gave Hanley a new career-high in steals (seven). Bailey Amerson was another key player, putting up five points.

Greenville H smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in nine consecutive matches.

Landrum lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kennedy Gardner-Speech, who scored seven points in addition to eight boards and four steals. Gardner-Speech has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cassidi Murphy, who earned eight points.

Greenville H pushed their record up to 14-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.0 points over those games. As for Landrum, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-10.

Greenville H didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-36 victory against Asheville Christian Academy on the 4th. As for Landrum, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 45-43 loss against Brashier Middle College Charter on the 31st.
