The Ingomar Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 games by 21 points or more this season. They blew past Quitman 52-31. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-11.
Macie Phifer was her usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with nine rebounds. The match was her 13th in a row with at least ten points. Cadie Jo Byrd was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Despite the loss, Quitman still got an impressive performance from AIYANNA DEAR, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Jahyla Dubuse, who scored six points.
The victory (which was Ingomar's third in a row) raised their record to 18-4. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 36.33 points. As for Quitman, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-4.
Ingomar will head out on the road to face off against South Pontotoc at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Pontotoc will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for Quitman, they will be playing at home against Mendenhall at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mendenhall will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Quitman is ranked 17th).
