The Kingswood Oxford Wyverns are taking a road trip to square off against the St. Luke's Storm at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Kingswood Oxford took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They blew past Suffield Academy 10-4. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wyverns considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Alexis Nisyrios ?27 was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lillian Evans ?29, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April. Reminisce Rosado ?28 was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one triple.
Meanwhile, St. Luke's entered their tilt with Holy Child on Thursday with 11 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 12. They put the hurt on the Gryphons with a sharp 10-2 win.
Caroline D'Onofrio spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up 12 Ks.
At the plate, Ellie Fatsi was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucy Millones, who went 3-for-4 with four runs and one stolen base.
St. Luke's kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matches.
St. Luke's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Kingswood Oxford, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
Saturday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Kingswood Oxford has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .437. However, it's not like St. Luke's struggles in that department as they've averaged .556. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Kingswood Oxford's way against St. Luke's in their previous meeting back in March, as Kingswood Oxford made off with a 17-5 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wyverns since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
