Booker T. Washington and Monsignor Pace are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2014, but not for long. The Booker T. Washington Tornadoes will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Monsignor Pace Spartans on February 10th. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
With a playoff game on the line, Booker T. Washington rose to the challenge on Thursday. They walked away with a 44-37 win over the Wildcats. Winning is a bit easier when you make six more threes than your opponent, as Booker T. Washington did.
Booker T. Washington can attribute much of their success to Jahmal David, who scored 16 points, and Leroy Lee Jr, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Armani Horton, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Monsignor Pace sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 48-45 win over iMater Charter on Thursday.
Monsignor Pace can attribute much of their success to Justin Bridges, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Jabari Dukes, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Moshe, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
The victory got Booker T. Washington back to even at 12-12. As for Monsignor Pace, their victory bumped their record up to 15-11.
Booker T. Washington didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Monsignor Pace in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 48-43 win. Does Booker T. Washington have another victory up their sleeve, or will Monsignor Pace turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
